I got into Android development while I was playing a lot of Heroclix and was tired off dragging a rule book with me all the time. Heroclix Rules which is my main app with more then 30 000 downloads, is a collection of most of the rules, and I’ve updated the design once since the release back in December 2010.
Some friend of mine though me how to properly build themes for WordPress. So this weekend I used some time to upgrade the theme I use for FifthFloorStudio. Even made a new logo. What do you think? Can you spot where I live?
I’ve spent most of the day testing NFC. It’s really fun and far from as difficult as I thought. So today I managed to make an app who can read tags, and when your not in the app. The system ask to open the app to read the tag. I’m probably going to post some code on how to do it on my other blog.
I feel like I mostly start a post being sorry that I don’t post so often, not anymore. I’m not sorry, life just busy. You might wonder what I’ve been up to. The last thing you heard is that I’ve got my tablet. So, I’ve started my Master in Design, Use and Interaction. It’s looking good and I’m taking two course in modeling and system process improvement, plus one in experimental it design. I have also applied for a master thesis about ThingML and Android. Hoping to get that, cause that would be a blast.
I’ve also worked on two more Android apps. One for something called Idéfestivalen, which was a treasure hunt (read: geocaching) app, taking you around campus both on Blindern and in Oslo center. The other was yet another Heroclix app, but this one is focuing on hosting a tournament. So you don’t need to use pen and paper. I also participated at Idefestivalen with Loopy Tangible, the sound machine I’ve mention earlier. Looked like people had fun playing on it. Now we just need to make another one, as it’s getting worn out. People are rough with it. Especially children.
There is also some new photos on my Flickr stream. Some graffiti/stickers, one of a cute robot and one of a strange street art. You should really check the last one out.
I’m finally done with my last exam and I feels great. I will try to be better at bloging, but since it’s Christmas and I’m going to be busy chilling and being with family. So might be wondering what I’ve been up to the last month, since I haven’t written anything about my life. I’ve been mostly busy with studying for my exams and playing WoW: Cataclysm. As you may remember, I started playing again. And it’s really fun. There has also been some Heroclixing. Yesterday there was a huge tournament, and it was super fun. won’t be any more playing before the new year I guess.
My android app is going good. There has been over 200 downloads, and now that I’m done with school. I’m going to add some more features before I try to make an similar app for Windows mobile 7. Looking forward to that. That’s all for now. Blog you later.
I went all hipster this week, cause I love my new cameraFX app. Going to upload them later to flickr. In the mean time, enjoy!
Downloaded a new android appeal called cameraFX. It let me take hipster picture, or at least wannabe. So what do you think? Took them all on my way home from school.
I’ve been using my new phone for about 24 hours now. Guess I can say something about it. As a phone it works okey, it ruined my contact list, so need to fix that. Sadly I can’t connect it to my computer, probably because I’m running Windows 7 64-bit. That sucks. I have also downloaded some program to it. Two TD (tower defense) games, always fun. A new program for sms handling, my brother says it’s much better then the original one. Guess I just have to trust him. Of course I downloaded Opera, as that is the only browser out there. I also needed a twitter client and a tool for taking notes. For now I’m pretty pleased with what I have, hopefully I’ll get better at writing with the touchscreen, just need some more practice. I also downloaded a WordPress tool for bloging, going to try that one out later this week!
In other news about my life, I got two cool toys from a friend as a late Christmas present. Will fit nicely with my other toys. They are even in the same family as Name!
