On Thursday my institute arranged a business day called Dagen@Ifi. This year I got surprised to see that they where arranging a Quake competition, and luck struck when it was Quake, the original Quake. Which is what I’ve played the most. Love that game! When I joined I didn’t know what I could win, and just wanted to join for the fun. For all I know there could be other good players. So, first round went pretty well; 19-1. He got a point when we both telefragged each other. Which is always hilarious. Second and third match also went pretty good. So I finally ended up in the final. Which was a “first man to 50 frags” type of match. Took about an hour, but I won (and by a long shoot to, 50-4). So that made the proud winner of an D-Link Boxee and a D-Link Sharecenter!

It hasn’t worked smoothly, but I’m getting the hang about how it works now. Luckily the Sharepoint works like a charm. Just need to get my hands on some more quietly hdd’s.

A trip back in time

In 1993, Dan Linton, owner of a hugely successful BBS called Software Creations, visited Texas and made his way to id Software. This is the footage he recorded one night in November 1993.

If you are a fan of Id-software or just want to see how Doom was made, you should check out this video. Also check out the blog where it was first posted!

Late up and gaming

Sleepy…Think I have something to say, but I also think I have forgot it. That’s fun…not. Yesterday, I had planned out an post about what I have done this week, but now I can’t remember a thing. Well, not completely true. I did got an invite to join the Quake Live beta (which is Quake played through a browsers), which I also tried out yesterday, but wasn’t that fun. Maybe because I don’t really feel like playing on my laptop. I’m a 360 boy now. The only games I play on my Asus is indie games! Other than that I’ve order some new movies from Great site with great prices. They even ship them for free! That’s nice!

Not sure if I told you all that I manage to get the ram expander to my Nintendo DS to work, but I did. Took some googling, and now it works like a charm. I can even use the Opera browsers to surf the net in classes!

“Anywo”, don’t think I have much more to say. I’m having a friend sleeping over tonight. Thats fun!

Stuff happens

Stuff is happening this week. Started on school (University in Oslo). That was interesting. Was just a quick briefing and signing day. Classes don’t start before next week.

DHL didn’t deliver my package today either, but this time they didn’t even try to deliver it. So at least they stopped lying, for now.

I’m also setting up a QExpo 2008 booth for Norwegian Quakers. So check it out when the expo opens at Friday. Will probably post some links and stuff.

Sadly I haven’t had time to work on the new layout. Still all in my head. Need to spend time to my lovly girlfriend plus school started.

Peace out!

QExpo 15.08.2008

QuakeExpo is opening its virtual doors this Friday. I haven’t visited the expo before, so it’s going to be interesting. I’m also thinking about setting up a booth myself, to reach out to the Norwegian quake fans. We’ll see. “Anywho”, for those who don’t know what QExpo is, hit the jump to read a quote!
